Lufthansa will resume seasonal Frankfurt–Nagoya flights and add a daily Frankfurt–Tokyo-Narita service for summer 2027.

For the 2027 summer season, Lufthansa Group is boosting its Japan network, introducing new Tokyo-Narita flights and restarting seasonal Frankfurt-Nagoya services, responding to growing travel demand to Japan and offering more connection options.

SWISS will boost its flight offerings, increasing the Lufthansa Group’s total weekly services to Japan to as many as 50. These flights will connect four Japanese cities: Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports, Osaka, and Nagoya.

Lufthansa Resumes Frankfurt–Nagoya Flights

Beginning in summer 2027, Lufthansa will restart seasonal flights from Frankfurt to Nagoya, running on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The first departure is set for March 29, 2027.

Outbound flight LH736 will depart Frankfurt at 2:10 p.m. and arrive in Nagoya at 9:35 a.m. the following day, local time. The return flight, LH737, will leave Nagoya at 11:30 a.m. and arrive in Frankfurt’s Rhine-Main metropolitan area at 6:30 p.m. local time.

Nagoya stands as a vital industrial and economic hub in Japan, playing a central role in the nation’s automotive sector and broader manufacturing. The city also holds historical ties to Japan’s samurai era and serves as a gateway to nearby regions, including Kyoto, the former imperial capital.

Lufthansa Adds Daily Frankfurt–Tokyo-Narita Service

From March 28, 2027, Lufthansa will introduce daily flight LH710 between Frankfurt and Tokyo-Narita for the summer season.

The return flight, LH711, departs Tokyo-Narita at 11:20 a.m. and lands in Frankfurt at 6:40 p.m. This new route will enhance Lufthansa’s seasonal capacity for the Tokyo area.

Both the Nagoya and Narita routes will be operated using the Boeing 787-9, equipped with the latest Allegris cabin layout. The plane will feature 28 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 231 Economy Class seats.

Dieter Vranckx, Lufthansa Group’s Executive Board member and Chief Commercial Officer, noted that Japan is a critical market for the airline. He expressed satisfaction with the expanded capacity and the return of flights to Nagoya.

SWISS will also grow its Japan network in summer 2027, adding up to seven weekly flights from Zurich to Tokyo-Narita. Across its airline brands, the Lufthansa Group aims to reach a total of 50 weekly flights to Japan during that period.

The updated schedule will reinforce the group’s standing among European carriers serving Japan, based on weekly flight volume. Travelers can also explore additional booking options through ANA, Lufthansa’s joint venture partner, for trips to Japan and beyond.
