The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) organized its 2026 India roadshow in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, aiming to strengthen tourism partnerships between South Korea and India. The event, coordinated by KTO’s New Delhi office, brought together key industry figures, including officials from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, OTOAI, IRCTC, and NIMA. These groups played a central role in discussions about supporting deeper cooperation.

The organization unveiled three major programs designed to attract Indian visitors: the MICE Support Program 2026, the Edu Tourism Support Program 2026–2027, and a new group visa facility. Each initiative provides financial aid, tailored incentives, and streamlined visa procedures to promote group travel. Yoonmi Cho, who leads KTO’s New Delhi operations, highlighted India’s rising importance as a destination market, pointing to a 21% surge in Indian tourist arrivals between January and September 2026.

South Korea’s diverse attractions, ranging from historical sites and contemporary landmarks to K-culture, wellness retreats, and culinary destinations, were central to the roadshow’s messaging. The event also showed recent improvements in air travel, such as the introduction of daily flights between Delhi and Seoul by Korean Air and Air India. Himanshu Patil, president of OTOAI, commended KTO’s role in advancing bilateral tourism initiatives.

Participants discussed how the new programs could drive growth in specific sectors, particularly those where demand from Indian travelers remains strong. The roadshow also served as a platform for meaningful engagement between Korean tourism representatives and Indian travel trade partners, encouraging networking, knowledge exchange and future business collaborations.
