“With the phenomenal infrastructural growth we have witnessed in Dubai it has been proven that the prospective of MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) tourism in this region is quite high,” says M.C. Mani, President at Royal Park Tourism Services LLC and Royal Gulf Tourism LLC, Dubai, in the first part of an exclusive video interview with Travelweb.
“We have not been harnessing our energies towards the MICE segment yet. However, we have realised that a particular set of skills and specialisation are needed to fulfil the market requirements. With the Expo 2020 coming up, we must initiate the step towards setting up a MICE division. It is definitely a segment we have to specialise in,” Mani says. One among the segments that Royal Park Tourism would be focussing on in the coming days is MICE.
Mani has foreseen the huge potential of CIS markets, especially Russia, Czech and Slovakia, much before his peers and made them the biggest customers of Dubai. His companies have consistently followed the strategy of carefully choosing the desired markets, while working to increase their market share and learning market specific requirements and models. “Our goodwill of many years has helped us succeed without compromising standards and rates,” he insists.
In a step to promote both sports and medical tourism in a big way, the company has also joined hands with Salamatak, a medical tourism facilitator, to offer medical and wellness packages designed for Russian and CIS markets. The packages will be showcased in the upcoming OTDYKH Leisure-International Trade Fair for Travel and Tourism to be held in Moscow.
“We’ve taken the initiative to learn what Russia or Ukraine need as markets and planned our new products accordingly. We will now gauge market response and then go ahead with it,” says Mani.
