Hertz Rent-A-Car UAE, part of the Al-Futtaim Automotive Group, has announced the opening of a new car rental location at the Dubai International Airport. The new branch becomes the 21st Hertz location in the UAE among a global network of 10,300 locations. The location marks the car rental company’s sixth airport branch in the UAE. Located at Terminal 2, it ensures complete Hertz presence at Dubai International as it joins Hertz’s existing branches at Terminal 1 and 3.

With this new location, Hertz intends to satisfy its customer’s growing demand for accessibility at Terminal 2 and thus deliver on its global stand of being a highly customer-focused car rental company.

Firefly Car Rental

The new Terminal 2 location will also feature Firefly Car Rental, a low cost car rental brand owned by the Hertz Corporation, giving customers the freedom to choose a car rental service that best suits their requirements. Both Hertz and Firefly franchisees in the UAE are operated by Al Futtaim Automotive Group.

Passenger traffic growth

The new location is a strategic move by Hertz UAE to tap into the huge passenger traffic that Terminal 2 receives from various regional and low-cost carriers, investing in regional travelers as they provide volume as well as building a loyal customer base. Hertz UAE believes Dubai International Terminal 2 will be an important location for Hertz and Firefly as both are poised with their respective brand offering; Hertz providing quality cars and customer service at highly competitive rates, while Firefly offers an aggressively priced car rental product.

Nigel Johnson, General Manager of Hertz UAE said, "The new airport location is another important step for us as we continue to expand our car rental network across major UAE airports and aim to be the car rental provider of choice for domestic and international clients. We recognise the importance of travellers from other countries, especially the GCC region, as the UAE heads towards the Expo 2020 and we know the flights coming in to Terminal 2 cater to a large part of this customer base. Providing the customers the option of choosing Hertz or Firefly with guaranteed world-class service will go a long way in making their trip to UAE more memorable.”

New opening offers

To mark the opening of the new branch, Hertz and Firefly offered exclusive deals on daily, weekly and monthly rentals. Customers can benefit from up to 20 per cent off rental prices and other special deals when renting from the new Terminal 2 airport location Eugene Barry, Executive Vice President of the Commercial & Communications Group at Dubai Airports said, “Creating quality partnerships and providing choice to our local and global customers is a primary consideration for Dubai Airports. We are delighted to extend Hertz’s footprint at Dubai International, and welcome them to Terminal 2.”

Hertz UAE has recently had a significant refresh of its UAE rental car fleet with an update focusing on increased fuel-efficiency of its models, ranging from budget-friendly sedans and SUVs to high-end, luxury models. The company has conveniently located branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah to meet the automotive rental needs of tourists, business travellers and residents.
