The much-talked about Al Majaz Watefront in Sharjah is all set to welcome its Winter Festival on 15 December 2016.

The festival will see the introduction of an ice rink, frosty decorations, snow tubing activity, a cool inflatable maze and a rainfall of snow.

As per a company release, Mohammad Fadhil Al Mazroui, Manager of Al Majaz Waterfront said: “It is often said that while the UAE is perfect in winter time for enjoying outdoor weather, the one thing that people miss is the festive snow feeling. Now residents and visitors can enjoy best of both worlds with our Winter Festival.”

The festival runs until 7 January 2017 with a landscape designed to offer a Scandinavian wintry feel. The walkway and event area, including trees and foliage, will be covered with artificial moving snow, for everyone to enjoy the visual impact of a snow-covered panorama. There will also be special illuminations that enhance the evening ambience.

For the first time ever in Sharjah, visitors will be able to enjoy outdoor ice skating at its East Event Circle area. For one minute every half an hour, four times a day, real snow will fall at its main walkway. Visitors will also be able to enjoy flakes gently drifting down and experience the cool feeling of them melting on their skin. An artificial ice slide, an inflatable maze as well as 10 winter kiosks and 10 food carts are some of the other highlights.
